pATHS TO INCLUSION

WHAT IS PATHS TO INCLUSION?

Paths to Inclusion is an innovative strategic partnership project which aims to create products for the promotion of participation of young people with special needs and to foster preparation of youth workers, educators, teachers and social workers to boost involvement of such target groups. Inclusion is our keyword. We are planning a project that first wants to work with and for a mix-ability group. All involved organizations have been working for a long time for the inclusion of disadvantaged groups in mobility projects and in social life. Not many youth workers are prepared to manage educational activities for people with special needs and this is a big issue to be tackled in order to facilitate inclusion and participation. This project wants to be a resource also for these youth workers, educators, teachers and social workers who belong to special needs groups themselves and face difficulties in finding accessible educational training material.

What are we going to implement?

IO1 - EXPERIMENTAL ACTIVITY MAP

A result of a research developed in the 5 participating Countries related to all existing experiential and educative activity present in the national territory.
The aim of IO1 is to create useful tools for young people with special need whom are willing to participate in exchanges, outdoor, activities, exhibition, sport, camps, leisure activities.
This will be a useful tool also for youth workers willing to organize activities with mixed ability groups.

IO2 - "ACCESSABILITY" TOOL KIT

It will contain practical tools to develop the social and emotional competencies of youth workers willing to work with young people with special needs. It will focus on activities aiming to improve attitudes of this target group about themselves and the others, increase pro-social behavior, attaining lower levels of behavioral problems and emotional distress, and improve social performance.

IO3 - ACCESIBILITY PLATFORM

This online course will cover various topics through the record of webinars and the explanation and examples of implemented activities and methods. It will be a resource for all youth workers, educators, teachers and social workers working with special needs.

A common base to work with mixed ability groups to improve real inclusion and not the division between disable and non- disabled groups.

get in touch with us

“Inclusion Platform” is an initiative created under the Erasmus+ project “Paths to Inclusion”. This project is led by the organisation ESPLORA, together with other European partners such as Turkey Youth Union Asociation (Turkey), Dostopnost (Slovenia), The Knot (Belgium) and DigitALT Asociación (Spain).

Training Course

The project also includes an on-site training course, in addition to the platform's webinars, where participants will discover how to integrate young people or youth workers with disabilities into projects/organizations and how to use and adapt methodologies for these specific projects. For a few days in San Felice Circeo, several young people and youth workers learned to work in mixed-ability groups and create inclusive activities.
